You’ve got your AirSense™ 11 PAP machine and you’re ready to get started. First thing to know is that you’re taking an important step in the right direction.
AirSense™ 11 APAP and CPAP machines are designed to make starting sleep apnea therapy, and adhering to it, easier and more convenient than ever before. Each AirSense 11 user gets exclusive access to new myAir features like Personal Therapy Assistant and Care Check-In to help enhance your therapy experience.
But we’re not here to talk features, this blog is dedicated to helping you learn how to set up your device and maintain it. Setting up a ResMed AirSense 11 machine is a straightforward process designed to provide optimal comfort for people with sleep apnea.
Read on for a step-by-step guide on how to set up the device.
Powering up
Plug the power cord into the back of the device and connect it to a power outlet. Your machine will power on and display a Welcome screen. You’ll then be asked some simple questions and will be invited to continue your set up with or without the myAir app.

Setting up the myAir app
Download the myAir app for personalised support to build your PAP skills and confidence. It guides you through device and mask setup with clear, step-by-step “how-to” videos.
Attaching the air tubing
Connect your air tubing by holding the cuff and lining it up with the connector port on the back of the machine. Line up the connector pin on the tubing cuff to the corresponding slot on the connector port. Push until the cuff clicks into place.

Installing the water chamber
Open the lid of the water tub and fill it with drinking-quality water (for cleanable tub) or distilled (for standard tub) up to the maximum water level mark. Close the lid and gently push the water tub into the side of the machine until you feel it lock into place.
Fitting your mask
The myAir app offers step-by-step instructions to help you fit your mask and check the seal. You can also follow the steps below:

Getting started
The START/STOP button located on the top of your machine is used to start and stop therapy sessions. On the Home screen, tap “MY OPTIONS” to adjust your comfort settings and tap “MY SLEEP VIEW” to see your sleep therapy data. At any time, you can tap the HOME icon at the top left corner to go back to the Home screen.
To get the best possible therapy for your sleep apnea, it’s important to properly clean your equipment on a regular basis including the mask, air tubing and humidifier tub.
Below are a set of instructions for cleaning your device daily and weekly.
Daily:
1. Empty the humidifier tub and wipe it thoroughly with a clean disposable cloth. Allow it to dry out of direct sunlight or heat
2. Refill the humidifier tub with distilled water if using the HumidAir 11 Standard water tub. If using the HumidAir 11 Cleanable water tub, use drinking quality water (portable)
Weekly:
For cleaning your mask, refer to our mask user guide for detailed instructions. You can also refer to your user guide for full instructions on setup and equipment cleaning.
